Breakfast

This morning I decided to make some more waffles.  They were just so good, my mom wanted some more and I wanted my dad to try them also.  This time I thought I would just have them with some strawberries and maple syrup.  I also had an organic orange on the side.

Today I didn’t end up eating lunch.  The waffles filled me up and I was munching on some cantaloupe and honeydew melon while I was cutting them up and I just wasn’t hungry.

Dinner tonight was simple.  Pasta with mushroom and onion tomato sauce.  I had a couple cans of plain tomato sauce in the pantry so I just sautéed up some onion, cremini mushrooms and garlic.  Then I just poured the mixture into a sauce pan with the tomato sauce and added oregano, parsley, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper.  So good!

For the rest of the night I am going to be looking at recipes and trying to figure out a meal plan for this week.  Also, I am going to finish watching Monsters Inc.  So cute!  I also have to get ready to start school again tomorrow.  I had a week off because of spring break but the semester is almost over.  April 19 and I am free for the summer; I can’t wait!!  Have a great Sunday night!

I don’t know what it was but I was just so tired last night that I didn’t get around to a post so I am going to do it now.

Snack

A couple hours after I ate lunch I was starting to get hungry again so I sliced up an apple, banana and with some peanut butter.  Since the only ingredient in the peanut butter is peanuts I sprinkled a little sea salt on it.

We are seriously starting to run out of food in this house so I have to do some major grocery shopping soon but I did finally find something to make.  I make some brown jasmine rice, with a mixture of black beans, cherry tomatoes (seeded), onion and cayenne pepper.  On the side I chopped up a sweet potato and roasted it.  I also added a little greek yogurt on top of the rice but I didn’t get a picture of it because I was already a quarter of the way through eating when I thought about using it.  So good!!

Well, I have some things I have to do before Detroit Tigers tickets go on sale this morning!  I am hoping I can get good seats for opening day.  Oh, almost forgot, there is a yummy breakfast coming up this morning!

This afternoon I was all ready to make one of the recipes that I had planned to make come to find out that we didn’t have any lemons.  I was so sad that I couldn’t make it.  So now I have to either wait until I get some lemons or just make the recipe without.  I am thinking I will wait.  Due to not having a lemon on hand I had to also think of something else to have for lunch.  I had everything planned out and then when it all went wrong I needed to find something fast because I was starving.

Lunch

Two pieces of honey whole wheat bread, all natural peanut butter, a drizzle of organic honey and raisins on the side.  Since the only ingredient in the peanut butter is peanuts I also added a little sea salt to it.

Once I was done eating lunch I decided to do a little research on real foods since I am doing this 100 Days of Real Food Challenge.  So far I real haven’t found anything that I didn’t already know and some things that I am not sure are correct.  So this means I have some more research to do.

Doing all this research on food was making me hungry so I decided to make some dinner.

Dinner

Tonight I made a sweet potato topped with black beans (added a small onion, garlic and cayenne pepper to the beans), salt and pepper.  Then I made one of the recipes I found online: Oven roasted carrots and kale. This is the first time I had ever tried kale and it wasn’t bad.  I thought it tasted better mixed with the black beans though.  Now I am full and going to go do some work.  Have a wonderful night!

I can do this Real food thing for the rest of my life if I can eat (the yumminess) like I did last night for dinner.

I thought what would be faster then breakfast for dinner.  So I made some organic eggs, with a splash of milk and organic munster cheese.  Then I had two slices of Great Harvest honey wheat bread with REAL butter (who knew real butter could taste that good… I sure didn’t).  I am so use to using light butter and all that.  I also had a banana.

Now getting to this morning. I made…

Greek yogurt oatmeal with raspberries and almonds.  I need my fuel to get some of my homework done so I don’t have to stress about it towards the end of the semester.  I am also going to be making a few recipes I found tonight.  I am hoping that they turn out good.  I will definitely be back later with a review of both recipes for sure.

I wasn’t feeling too good throughout the day so I ended up not getting to the grocery store tonight.  This is going to make finding something to eat in the morning a little harder to start the 100 Days of REAL Foods but I have some oatmeal that I can make and a little bit of milk left so I think I will be good.  As long as I have something to give me fuel to get to the grocery store in the morning:)  So tonight was the lasted processed food that I will eat.

Kahiki General Tso’s Chicken with brown rice.  The only thing that this meal is lacking is some veggies.  Now I am off to eat and to finish watching…
